Will You Join Us In Prayer

We are a praying church, seeking God’s will, thanking Him for His many blessings and making our needs and our desires known to Him as He has asked us to do in the scriptures.

Philippians 4:6 – Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God.

Mark 11:24 – Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours.

Colossians 4:2 – Continue steadfastly in prayer, being watchful in it with thanksgiving.

1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 – Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you

Some of our more general prayer requests are given here.   We would like to ask you and even encourage you to join us in these prayers as you are able.  We trust God to meet all our needs according to His will, so we are going to pray continuously and thank Him as He answers each of our prayers.

  • We pray for peace in the world everywhere.  That you would help all of those in the world that are affected by war and terrorism and that you would bring an end to so much of the suffering that is at work in our world.  We pray for peace, safety and security for all people, and we hope for the time when all will know of the hope they can have through belief in your Son, Jesus Christ.
  • We pray for the leadership of our nation, from smallest to greatest, no matter their political affiliation.  We ask God, that you would be in their lives, that if they already know you, that you would bless them and guide their decisions, and if they don’t know you that you would draw them to you and extend your grace and your lovingkindness to them.  We would ask that you guide our leaders to make decisions that serve the needs of their constituencies well rather than contributing to any lust for power or personal gain.  That you would guide them to proper moral and ethical behavior and a high regard for the lives of the people that they are affecting in their various roles.
  • We pray for the finances of our little church, a small part of the body of Christ.  Lord God, we thank you for the many ways that you provide for us as we work to serve you and to love our neighbors.  There is much work to be done, and we ask that you provide everything we need to continue the work of the ministries that you want to support in this church.  We trust you for your provision and we look to you for guidance in how to apply everything you give us to further your kingdom and bring glory to your Son, Jesus Christ.
  • We pray for your provision as we ask you to direct the transfer of ownership of our building or any other property you choose to our local church body in order to remove the oppressive weight of the monthly rental expense we have to pay and to free up resources to further our work in all of the other ministries you want us to support.  We know that it is possible for you to provide for any need that we have, and we trust you in every way knowing that you can make this happen.  Our desire is to be able to serve in this place where you have placed us, to be able to welcome and love as many people as you bring us and to reach the people of this community for the cause of Christ as we possibly can.  You know that we need a place to do this, and you have provided that for us in the building we are now in.  You know our current burden and we are seeking your will in this so that we can be most effective in serving you for our community.
  • We pray for our country.  You have blessed us as a country in ways that are unique in this world by allowing us freedom and liberty and self-governance.  Lord, please help us to not abuse or misuse these privileges.  Help us to keep the liberty that you have given us and give us the ability to live our lives the way that you would have us live them, so that Jesus is glorified.  We pray for the men and women that serve our country, especially those who have paid the ultimate price, so secure our liberty, and we thank them for their service to our country.  We know that this country only exists because you brought it into existence, and we know that this country will only exist as long as it serves your purposes.  Help us all, Lord, to seek your face, to honor you, and to be a light to the rest of the world.
